I can't understand why people are still criticizing in some minor areas. They have to make profit somewhere. For them to actually remove fashion gems and merit revival system is already a pinnacle of miracle which led many MMO players can't believe that Nexon (regarding to their history) actually removed this. So let's be proud how the game won't start as P2W. However, the actual "small" thing which might be P2W is the membership thing since it reducts the amount of materials required to upgrade, addition XP & Mesos (where XP would be very beneficial in near future where we need to level up to 70+) but still this comes in a small amount so it's pretty beatable and bearable.
As for the gachapon, I understand...some people might spend like 1K merits, and get that specific item they want while others might spend 10K merits, and doesn't receive it. In this case, if you don't want to fall in a battle with RNG (I believe you, I'd rather fight Devorak alone than fighting RNG sometimes, kappaface) you can always convert mesos to merits and get that horse hat!
As much as I agree with you, I believe EU won't be dead and there's many reasons. People will keep on coming (new players) and honestly there has been more games which had their own global server dead and it kept running up smoothly, therefore for just a splitted server I don't think they would merge us since it doesn't seem fitting. However, if they hopefully merge us, we'll surely be intensely populated which may cause some lagging and other consequences, I believe.
