Make a way to progress without dungeons or off.

I feel like it's fair for dungeons to be required for progression. While it definitely has its flaws (such as struggling to find parties), this is a normal mechanic of many, many MMORPGs. Interacting with players is typically required as the curve of end-game hits, as you and -insert other characters here- must work together to beat terrible foes and reap the rewards!

It's valid to voice your opinions and they matter a ton; however what is more valuable is why you feel this way and what you would change if you could. Give support for your thoughts! :)

The main problem isn't that dungeons are required for progression. The main problem is that the progression is equipment based rather than level based. What rewards do dungeons give? Equipment and equipment enhancers. What can better equipment allow you to do? More dungeons and raids/other bosses. And what do those raids/bosses give you? Better equipment and equipment enhancers. What's the point in having such a repetitive cycle (bosses -> better equipment -> bosses -> better equipment)?

Not only is it repetitive (which is one reason why progression solely based on dungeons is a bad thing), there's a fundamental flaw with this equipment based progression system. With only a few dungeons/raids and bosses, and a large difference between a +0 and +15 and different tiers of equipment, it is impossible to properly balance the HP of bosses so that the weakest player doesn't take forever and the strongest player doesn't take only a minute or two or less. It's akin to grouping a level 30 and a level 80 in the same tier. Gear Score and Fair Fight are poor attempts at mimicking a level progression system and addressing the aforementioned issue respectively. MS1 doesn't have such a concept and takes this to the extreme. If you're a weak player, you can forget about doing any bosses other than the "easy" version bosses. A level based progression system is much more natural in this regard.

Moreover, there are additional problems such as a horribly one dimensional stat system and style of gameplay (Why does every piece of equipment have to give attack bonuses, which will only result in more imbalances? Why is damage such a critical factor whereas defense, HP, accuracy, etc. are almost irrelevant?), a lack of utilization of the game world, and a lack of a trade market as a result of this horrible equipment progression system.

It's clear that Nexon doesn't know how to structure their games at all.
