What is the Prestige Rank?
The Prestige Rank is a system designed to reward players by relating their playing time and their productivity in MapleStory 2 (or, in simple terms, it’s a “play to win” reward system).

How does it work?
By doing certain activities in the game, you win Prestige Experience. After earning 1 million (enough experience to upgrade 1 Prestige Rank), your experience gain rate is reduced. That doesn’t mean you can’t upgrade more than 1 Prestige Rank per day, but it’s way more difficult.

What certain activities?
Practically anything you do in MapleStory 2 give you Prestige Experience, such as:

Every new player on MapleStory 2 starts with Rank 1. By progressing and doing regular activities this Rank upgrades, as mentioned before. However, the first 95 Rank upgrades come with unique rewards.

Here’s a list of them:
[Rank 2] 500,000 Meso Pouch
[Rank 3] 2x Attribute Points
[Rank 4] 500,000 Meso Pouch

By upgrading your Prestige Rank, you can also gain two types of trophies.

unknown.png
*They have "(Account)" in their names, because these trophies, like the prestige rank himself, are account bound.

The first one called "(Account) The Adventure Continues" it's a common progressive trophy, starting by achieving the Rank 10, then going by 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90. The only trophy that gives you something it's the fifth one:

The second one called "(Account) A True Adventurer" you gain by reaching Rank 100. This trophy is a special one because it gives a insignia:

The Insignia evolves as long as your Prestige Rank increases. In my case, at the moment that I took this picture I had a Prestige rank of 225.

Upgrading your Prestige Rank isn’t only for character design purposes, Meso Pouches and Attribute Points. You also get improvements in certain game mechanics, the so-called Prestige Perks.

This is a mechanic introduced in the New Leaf Project in order to replace the formerly boring and repetitive Daily Missions. Besides the rewards explained before in this post, you can gain gifts by ranking up your Prestige Rank weekly.
