These are my opinions on how to play the heavy gunner class. If you have any questions you can find me live at twitch.tv/killer_jakeu

This guide will cover what rank 1 build, rank 2 builds, best lapenshards for each build, what stats to go for, and macros/rotations. I would not say I am the #1 heavy gunner in the game, so take what I say as a grain of salt.

Offensive/Healing Build- This build has 7 points of med-kit. I would use this build if I did not want to use alot of pots.

IV. Stats
This part is probably going to have the highest controversy. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. Heavy gunner can be built in any way you want. Here are my views on how to deal the most damage.

Stat priority : Physical Piercing > Attack Speed > Piercing > Accuracy > Range/Boss/Total Damage

These are the optimal stats you want.
Physical Piercing: 15%
Attack Speed: 110-115%
Piercing: 30%
Range/Boss Dmg: As much as you can

You want between 110-115% attack speed. Any more and its not worth it. Trust me I went attack speed build.

You want 27% piercing because of ascendant’s weapons special effect, but 30% is the hard cap. You will not do additional damage after 30%.

Range/Boss damage I will get into the ratio. And how one is better than the other in certain situations

Cannon - Piercing/Physical Piercing

Hat/Top/Bottom/Shoe - Boss Damage or Accuracy

Gloves - Physical Piercing

Earrings - Piercing + Boss Damage or Piercing + Range Damage

Necklace - Piercing + Boss Damage or Piercing + Range Damage or Kandura’s Pendant

Ring - Piercing + Boss Damage or Piercing + Range Damage

Cape - Piercing + Boss Damage or Piercing + Range Damage

Belt- Rank 1-10 Dark Descent Belt or Piercing + Boss Damage or Piercing + Range Damage


BIS
This is my opinion on the best in slot gear that you can get. This is assuming that you can get perfect max stats on each equip which is nearly impossible.

Cannon - Ascendant Cannon - 3.2 % Piercing/ 11.2% Physical Piercing
Hat/Shoe - Ascendant - 5.0% Boss Damage
Top/Bottom - Ascendant - 6 Accuracy or 5.0% Boss Damage
Gloves - Ascendant - 7.4% Physical Piercing
Earrings - Ascendant - 4.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage
Necklace - Ascendant - 4.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage
Ring - Ascendant - 4.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage
Cape - Ascendant - 5.0 Attack Speed / 6.0% Boss Damage
Belt - Centurion - 4.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage
Pet -Eupheria - 4.0% Piercing/ 5.0% Attack Speed/ 5 Accuracy

Total Stats - Piercing 27.2% with house buff
Physical Piercing 18.6%
Boss Damage 44.5%
Accuracy 22

In this setup, you will have 110% atk spd which is optimal. In addition, you want 27% piercing because the ascendant weapon gives 3% piercing buff. This means one of your accessories should not have piercing. For the ascendant cape and belt, there is an additional set effect of 30 physical/magical attack. You will have enough accuracy for all bosses.

Gem Set up would be 8/1 or 9/0 dex/accuracy depending on needs.


Realistic BIS
This is my opinion on the best in slot gear that you can realistically get. Totally achievable with the available resources in game right now.

Cannon - Ascendant Cannon - 3.2 % Piercing/ 11.2% Physical Piercing
Hat/Shoe - Ascendant - 5.0% Boss Damage
Top/Bottom - Ascendant - 6 Accuracy or 5.0% Boss Damage
Gloves - Ascendant - 7.4% Physical Piercing
Earrings - Madrakan - 4.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage
Necklace - Kandura’s Pendant - 5.0% Attack Speed/ 7 Accuracy
Ring - Frost Ring - 6.0% Piercing/ 6.0% Boss Damage/ -4 Accuracy
Cape - Madrakan - 4.0% Piercing / 6.0% Boss Damage
Belt - King DD Belt - 3.0% Piercing/ 7.0% Boss Damage/ 3% Attack Speed/ 3 Accuracy
Pet -Eupheria - 4.0% Piercing/ 5.0% Attack Speed/ 5 Accuracy

Total Stats - Piercing 28.2% with house buff
Physical Piercing 18.6%
Boss Damage 35%
Accuracy 28

In this setup, you will have 113% atk spd. In addition 28.2% which means there is no need for all max piercing rolls. In addition, madrakan effect gives +5 accuracy with its own special set of OP effects. This setup has more accuracy therefore gem set up will be all dex gems.


Ranged Dmg vs Boss DMG
Only Boss Damage affects the damage of lapenshards. However, current raids has many ads which would be better for ranged damage. Depending on what content you are mainly tackling on ranged dmg could be better than boss dmg. For my gameplay, I am mostly focusing on killing the boss therefore I prefer boss dmg over ranged dmg.


V. Macros/Rotations

I only put Rank 1 Skills in a macro. If you want to maximize your damage you want to put in filler skills such as Rank 1 Skills so that your Rank 2 Skills have time to charge.
