In hindsight, I personally feel it would have been more beneficial to release awakening/spirit binder out before Chaos raids, due to the clearly increased amount of players hitting the same sore spot of enchantment percentages. Then, there would be more options to raise someone's DPS without the need of high quality epic gear or legendary gear.

Alternatively, they could've just added more terms of progression instead of forcing everyone through dungeons as the only option to obtain both gear and enhancement materials for gear.
Right now the entire bundle of content that makes up the rest of the game is a complete joke in terms of progression because they're isolated activities that contribute nothing to general progression. Would it have been that hard to make fishing or crafting give a few bonuses? Admittedly crafting does hand out a few stat boosts but they're relatively useless compared to the effort required.

To add upon this, things like gemstones are almost inaccessible to newer or unlucky players because of how rare getting B4 keys are. The 1 tier 1 gemstone you get from soloing B1 isn't so bad. But trying to upgrade that 1 gemstone is a joke early on. At this point I don't think awakenings would help the community when the issues lies with how people are supposed to get gear.

Well firstly, the point is to start shifting attention AWAY from reliance on GS/Gear quality, which is even more emphasized in light of chaos raids. With the lack of awakening to give potential new dps avenues that rely more on progression and less on DPS, the chaos raids will rely entirely on the level weapon you and your team-mates have, as well as things like gems. It is also an issue that other activities are dipping out of favor with few buffs/potential benefits to be had (blacksmithing being useless). In other words, the game content feels like its overall veering toward the route MS1 ended up taking, which is an overall reliance on bossing as game content.

With awakening, not only would new and stronger moves be accessible by anyone willing to put in the effort of job advancement and leveling, but it would yield a higher DPS as a result, not relying too much on gear-based progression, which is being hounded by the ghost of RNG-reliance communal backlashing.

In other words, awakening would be a fresh new way to approach already popular content with a new (and most likely better) style.
